Biographical / Historical

Dutch-born Saco Reink DeBoer was a noted Denver landscape architect from 1910 until his death at age 90 in 1974. He dreamed of "bringing beauty to the treeless cities and plains of Colorado." The first master plan for a botanic garden for the city of Denver was his design. His work was integral in the development of Denver Botanic Gardens.
