Scope and Contents

The botanical stamps collection contains two separate collections of stamps collected and arranged by Kathryn Kalmbach, avid stamps collector and plant research and significant historical figure of Denver Botanic Gardens, and Margo PoKempner, Atmospheric Physicist and hobbyist stamp collector. Additionally to botanical stamps, the collection contains a small number of stamps with animals and other subjects, as well as materials and equipment used in stamp collecting.

Abstract Box contains the first half of stamps from Volume II. This box also contains the back panel of the original binder which has clippings and other information. Abstract Box 1 contains the first half of stamps sheets from Volume I. These sheets include a handwritten introduction, list of plants families in the entire collection, and an index to the first volume. Abstract

Box 12 contains Binders 5 and 6 of stamps collected by Margo PoKempner. Stamps are organized alphabetically by country/region of origin. Binder 5 contains Cambodia - Chad. Binder 6 contains Chile - Cocos Island.
